KinderGate Parental Control 3.0: HTTPS traffic filtering, clustering, and multi-platform support

Newly updated KinderGate Parental Control 3.0 from Entensys filters HTTPS traffic, combining a convenient intuitive interface with support for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

KinderGate Parental Control filters Internet traffic for home and school users, with several filtering methods supported: safe search, category-based site filtering, morphological analysis, whitelists and blacklists, file download restrictions, and ad blocking. These tools allow restricting HTTP and, in the new version, HTTPS traffic as well, complementing each other to form a comprehensive, effective system for verifying web content.

KinderGate makes use of official lists of banned sites and materials (including lists issued by IWF and CIPA) to comply with all legal requirements for Internet filtering that apply to schools. Thanks to new support for dynamic updates, dictionaries (available in en, de, ru, Japanese and Arabic) and site databases are kept up to date.

The new version also supports Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Installing KinderGate on a cluster allows centrally managing the filtering process on multiple computers, offering the opportunity for unlimited expansion of KinderGate-based filtering solutions.

"One of our top priorities since last year has been to make our solutions compatible with platforms across the board and to implement clustering support,” commented Dmitry Kurashev, Entensys CEO. “The first product to deliver these changes was UserGate Web Filter, which implements online safety and security rules at the gateway level. And now with the third generation of KinderGate Parental Control, we have built a solid foundation with an ambitious roadmap still ahead.”
