Entensys, a leading developer of software solutions in the field of online security, announces the release of UserGate Proxy & Firewall 6.2 with a new anti-virus traffic scanning module based on the SAVAPI core by AVIRA.
UserGate Proxy & Firewall is a UTM (Unified Threat Management) grade Internet gateway that enables network administrators to provide and control employees’ shared access to online resources, filter out malicious, dangerous and unwanted websites, protect the corporate network from external intrusions and attacks, create virtual networks and configure secure VPN access to network resources from the outside, as well as to control the channel bandwidth and online applications.
The new version of UserGate Proxy & Firewall uses three anti-virus engines. The newest SAVAPI module has been added to the already supported anti-virus engines by Kaspersky Lab and Panda Security.
The operation of the anti-virus module is based on the SAVAPI engine developed by AVIRA. SAVAPI and the underlying technology are based on cross-platform and CPU-agnostic code. Thanks to the use of a resource-saving approach to programming, AVIRA products consume a minimum of operating memory. Avira currently has over 100 million clients, 500 employees and is a leading global developer of security solutions for professional and home use.
The program also features a host of minor improvements and offers better performance under heavy load.
AVIRA’s anti-virus module will be integrated into other Entensys products as well. This will make for the growth of popularity of the company’s products in dey and other countries of the European Union.
